Run NTA with MYSQL

I am currently using NPM with SQL Express but had database issues when trying to run NTA on the same box. Do i need to get the full SQL version (standard or enterprise) or can i use MYSQL as a more cost effective solution?

currently MS SQL 2005/2008 in the only supported database for NPM/NTA
