Gauges for Statistical Data from WMI Performance Counter Objects

Hi,

After having upgraded recently to APM V2, I found a way of getting a graph of the statistical data generated by a WMI performance counter object, but is there a way I can use a gauge rather than a graph for the data? For example, we have several citrix servers, and I wanted to have a gauge of the number of current Active Terminal Server sessions. Anyone know if this is something that can be done?

Also, it would be nice if more than one data source could appear on a graph. Taking the Terminal Server sessions idea, you can report on Active, Inactive and Total number of sessions via the performance counter objects. It would be good if there was a way of combining all these data sources in to one graph rather than having to have three. This is just one example where it would be useful.

I'm not aware of a method to display data from APM in a gauge. Also, displaying more than data source on a graph isn't possible either, as far as I know. The closest thing would be the min/max/avg graphs.

Instead of using APM to pull this information, have you considered creating a UnDP with the appropriate OID to complete this task? You can definitely display UnDP data in a gauge.

So would this be possible using SNMP queries to the specific OID for that object instead of the WMI query? I think it would be nice to see differnent information in the guages. Also, I like the idea of multiple counters on teh graphs. I used to utilize Cacti to do snmp polling of my Citrix Servers and I did have the ability to add multiple counters on the same graph. Is that possible with SW?

I'm not aware of any resources for Orion that have the capability of selecting multiple pollers or statistics to graph.

This seems like a great feature request. I would love to be able to create gauges for my critical web servers and monitor the Current Connections counter
