Report Scheduler Not Emailing

Merry Christmas,

I am having an issue with Report Scheduler.

I am setting up a new schedule, basically what I am doing is logging into Orion, browsing to the page I want to schedule, copy the url and paste it into the scheduler. I have done it this way on all my previous scheduled reports and no issue so far. I checked my Orion Web Login with the correct info and still get the same thing.

I checked the log and the error I am getting is "12/27/2007 1:16:18 PM Error processing Job "Monthly Utilization"
Error downloading web page from solarwinds-svr/.../ChartData.asp Month&SampleSize=1D
The content type was not valid in this context. For example, the root of an MHTML message must be an HTML document."

somewhere in there it is telling me what is wrong but I am not sure where and how to fix it. Any Thoughts?

Are you using Integrated Windows Authentication and/or IE by chance? You stated this was working previously so has anything changed? Browser version?

What I am doing is creating a new report, based off of an old working report. I am creating all of this in Orion Report scheduler. The working report is a graph of the network wide percent Utilization. I customized the chart for the previous month and got a graph of last months Utilization, I hit the "show Printable version" button and got a page with just the graph. I copied and pasted the URL into report scheduler and set up the report to run once a month on the 1st of the month. This workes no problems there. I go to the same customized chart and at the bottom is a "chart Data" button. I hit that and get the data rather than the graph. I copy the URL for the data into report scheduler and it doesn't work. I even took the existing working report (Graph) and deleted the graph URL and inserted the chart URL and I get the same error in RunOrionJob.log file (Error processing Job "Monthly Utilization"

sorry for misunderstanding- at first I thought it might be a permissions issue- but the report scheduler will not display the raw data you want because that is in Excel format in which the RS is unable to display via email-

No worries, I didn't explain it well.

That's not the answer I wanted to hear, yuck. I looked at the .asp files and can see where the problem is. Are the .asp files generated when the report is run or are they the template for the report? what I am wondering is if I can change the .asp file from a .txt based to an HTML root which is what my problem appears to be.

I'm puzzled by this comment but I'm coming to believe it is true. I've been working with Support on creating Excel reports with RS (open case 46178) and have been told that Development says the &DataFormat=xls string should work from RS if Excel is installed on the server. Well, we installed Excel on the server this weekend and the reports still fail with the same error message "The content type was not valid in this context.". At this point, I've uploaded the diagnostics file and waiting on Support feedback. I'm hoping this is just a bug and can be fixed and not have to wait for the feature to be added. We need to be able to automate creating a large number of monthly reports needed in Excel format.
