I have seen this discussed in the past but never seems to get a good answer, unless I just haven't come across the correct discussion yet.
Question : For Linux monitoring, why do I get different values of CPU percent utilization from SolarWinds as compared to Cacti and then compared to Hobbit?
Example : in a four hour period for one server SW shows AVG CPU load of 86%, Cacti shows 31.06%, Hobbit shows14.8%. Can anyone explain why reporting is so off? Also, during this time frame for the server, SolarWinds reporting that it did hit 100% CPU load several times. The others never got close to 100%.
Thanks
