truncating large tables.

Is there any problems with me truncating the bigger netflow tables?

I don't care about old data, but I don't want to break anything in the application.

I am talking about the following tables:

TRUNCATE TABLE NetFlowSummary3

TRUNCATE TABLE NetFlowSearchByAddress

TRUNCATE TABLE NetFlowSummary2

TRUNCATE TABLE FlowCorrelationPostDNS

TRUNCATE TABLE FlowCorrelationPreDNS

You can truncate summary 2 and 3. If you use on demand DNS resolution your DNS tables will get truncated upon db maintenance. You can make that setting in NetFlow Settings. You will lose the top domains resource as we won't be tracking those.

So by default it does not truncate the DNS tables on a DB maintenance?

If we truncate them manually, would the data rebuilt itself eventually (won't break any functionality)?

It does does trim the DNS tables but you may want to do additional.
