SolarWinds automation with CMDB

Hii there...I'm in the process to automate Solarwinds with CMDB so that any field updated in SolarWinds, will be updated in CMDB too. I've tried Github Orion-SDK https://github.com/solarwinds/orionsdk-python, and it works; all the sample.py scripts can run. Now, I'm working on the https://github.com/solarwinds/OrionSDK. When I'm installing the chocolatey, as stated here https://github.com/solarwinds/OrionSDK/tree/master/Chocolatey, I am not clear with how to find the SHA-256 hash for OrionSDK.msi and how to get the API key? Can anyone explain this to me further regarding this issue? Thanks in advance...

Do you want to install the SDK components via Chocolatey and you have issues installing the SDK or did you already install the SDK and you have issues with your scripts, from your explanation this is not clear to me.

Referring to this, https://github.com/solarwinds/OrionSDK/tree/master/Chocolatey I'm not clear with step 2,4 and 5. In order to push the chocolatey package, we need the API key. Where should we get the API key from? @HerrDoktor

you don’t need to worry about that. You don’t need to use Chocolatey for installing the SDK.
Just use the MSI here
https://github.com/solarwinds/OrionSDK/releases/download/v2.5.0.214/OrionSDK.msi

Chocolatey is a Package manager for Windows and it can help to keep your Software up to date, however just install the MSI and off you go.

Alright. Thank you. So how about the API key of SolarWinds? Where to find it?

Without package manager, by just installing the MSI, getting this error :

The error pop up is "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."
