Starting Orion Web Console for NPM & NetFlow Traffic Analyzer

Question

I am having difficulty starting the Orion NPM. I cannot seem to log into the Orion Web Console as noted in the Quick Start Guide as well as my notes from class. I am using default userID & PW . I noticed several ip addresses in the address bar of Internet Explorer. They were:
 
http://localhost/
http://127/0.0.1/
 
 When I use either of the above address, I get the following:
 
i Internet Explorer Cannot Display the webpage
 
Most likely causes:·        You are not connected to the Internet

·        The website is encountering problems

·        There might be a typing error in the address

What you can try:·        Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected

·        Retype the address

·        Go  back to previous page.

Hi Dave,

In the address bar of internet explorer, type http://1.1.1.1, where 1.1.1.1 is the ip address of the Orion server. Does the login page display?

If not, please go to Start -> Programs -> Solarwinds Orion -> Advanced Features -> Orion Service Manager.

Are all services listed as Running? And the IIS web site?

Click Start -> Administrative Tools -> IIS Manager.

Click the + to expand the IIS server and then the web sites. Right click on Solarwinds NetPerMon and select Browse. Does the login page display?

Right click on Solarwinds NetPerMon and select Properties. Click on the Web site tab, what ip address is displayed? What TCP port?

Does your machine have an address?  If not assign it one and use that.
