Scripting Response Time vs Statistic

We are monitoring an FTP folder using the File Count module. We have files sent via FTP in zip format to be processed by our applications. We need to make sure this folder does not contain more than 1 file longer than 20 minutes.

In other words this folder should remain empty 99% of the time.

How would I set this up? What is the difference between Response Time and Statistic?

I have the File Count module set to the right folder and it does send back correct counts, but I need to set up thresholds so alerts can be sent to the admins.

File Age Monitor can monitor only single file. It was mentioned for files such as logs, backups etc. If you need to monitor any file in the folder, you can try to use Windows Script Monitor using your custom VB script. Then you can scan folder for all files, check their dates and report result as you need.

Hello,
Response Time is how long whole operation takes, that is how long from beginning of poll it takes to get all results back.

Statistic is actual number of files in the folder.

For your needs you should alert on statistic greater than 1 which means that there is more then one file in the folder.

If you need also measure how long is specific file in the folder, it is also possible but only if that file has always the same name. You can then use "File Age Monitor". Statistic gives you number of hours from last file modification (so 20 minutes would be approx. 0.33 hours).

Ok now I am getting it. Can file age monitor monitor just an extension of files? We just need to make sure this folder is getting processed by its application. There is no time when a filename will come in with the same name.
