I inherited a jacked up SAM and this seems to not be configured anywhere.
Dell does not expose storage related information via WMI, only SNMP. You will need to change the node polling method for this server from WMI to SNMP for array information to appear within SAM's Hardware Health.
Jacked up?
RAID array is part of the hardware features, and not something added via a template. It's also only a feature supported on some hardware platforms with the necessary agents installed. To add it you have to click on "list resources" on the node itself, and if you have the right features enabled on the host, it'll have a new option for hardware health. Troubleshooting details can be found here: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/apm/docs/Troubleshooting_Hardware_Health.pdf
Yeah it is jacked up in many areas, thanks to someone halfway configuring it.
It is not listed in the resource list that's the first place I looked. I also previously ran into that link, thanks for verifying that's were I should have focused. So if a particular server only has the RAID Array missing in that list, it is server side? Is there a view in the SAM that shows me all device reports for just RAID so I can see what other servers are missing this?
What is the make/model/manufacturer of the server and how is the node managed in Orion? Is it a SNMP or WMI managed node?
It is a Dell PowerVault NX3100 queried by WMI. Is there a dashboard view to see just the raid arrays for all servers in the SAM?
