Hi:

Recently I had a trouble in a Solaris Machine. This machine stops responding SNMP , but

was responding to ICMP. Messages showing machine down was sent at 06:50 only.

My question: Is there any way to monitor this machine to send me messages when

cpu stops responding ? See attached images.

quite new to orion..

looking at the cpu graph there always appears to be activity on that CPU.

Could you setup a seperate alert trigger for that server to alert you when the CPU util hits 0%

Guess this is a crude way of doing sure someone thats knows a lot more will be along soon lol

I made an alarm to trigger when a node is up and cpu usage is 0, but

I´m receiving a lot of messages from servers up and cpu´s usage 0.

This condition doesn´t satisfy my desire.

I need an alarm when node is up but cpu usage is empty, or anything

like this. Please help me.

If I understand your problem, you really want to know when SNMP fails to respond on the server. What about setting up a universal device poller to check something like system up time or some other status type variable. You could then add the UnDP as part of your alert. So, alert me if Node is Up and UnDP is down. If I misunderstand the issue, my apologies.
