We've been seeing this behavior since upgrading to 10.2. There is no discernible pattern as far as I can tell. Sometimes it happens several times a day and then it may not happen for several days.
Any idea why this may be happening?
I'm having a similar issue on version 10.1.2 except it's not just inferfaces that are being removed and re-added.
FunkBuddha/tbell--
I have this marked for the PM to take a look at.
Tbell, what other issues are you experiencing?
Thanks,DH
Based on the limited information here I suggest you two open support cases. I can't think of any known bug that would be causing this. You will definitely need to include diagnostics when you open the case.

Just curious do you have multiple polling engines? If you move a device from one poller to another the node and all interfaces will be removed from one and then re-added to the other. This is how it will present itself in the logs.
Just a thought.
For me it's not interfaces that are removed and re-added. It's Virtual Memory, Physical Memory, and Disk Drives.
I only have one Polling Engine.
I ave a single polling engine now but when I migrated to my new poller I seem to remember having two temporarily but I fixed that somehow. I wonder if that could be the source of the issue.
The same is happening with my 10.1.1 // All interfaces removed and then all of them added again.
NPM service stops suddenly and this is very critical.
Any solutions yet for this issue??
This issue was most probably caused by unstable or slow database connection. We saw several cases in 10.1 and lower version where all interfaces or volumes or nodes we massively removed from poller. It was always caused by database or huge network latency.
In 10. 2 we made it more stable for these situations. Can you see this issue also on latest 10.2.2? If so, please open support ticket and I would love to look at it.
Thanks
I’ve been working with Solarwinds Support Engineer Radu Grigorescu and he gave me this suggestion and it seems to be working. All other events are reporting without a problem but the add / remove are not reporting.
1. Open Solarwinds Database manager
2. Expand the DB till you'll find the eventTypes table
3. Right click on it, and choose query table
4. Select the Read-Write Radio button and for the EventType 16 and 17 uncheck the Record box
This will configure Orion not to record interfaces added/removed.
