Export to PDF shows only visible pages

So I'm goofing around with compliance reports under the NCM. Clicked on the compliance tab, and ran one of my policies. At the top right there's 3 fun little buttons, Export to PDF, Edit Report, and Help. Click on Export to PDF, and it exports a screen shot of the page. So if you scroll down to the Report details, under it there's an "export" menu. I have the option to export to an excel or to CSV.

Is it really supposed to work that way? A screen shot ported to a PDF? I would have thought that you would have gotten the report pushed into a PDF.

Has anyone found a use for the Export to PDF as it functions now as a screen shot push?

This is currently a known limitation of the PDF export.

Fair enough. Is there a way to generate a report into a pretty PDF format? Something we can put a cover page on with some fancy images and send off to management without a lot of hassle?

Can't think of any but maybe someone else has ideas how to make NCM reports look fancy enough .

Hello,

Have you tried using the policy reporter to do this from the NCM server directly?

Open NCM Policy Reporter.

start>all programs> solarwinds network configuration manager> SolarWinds NCM Policy Reporter

When it opens click schedule at the top.

Here you can schedule the report.

In the notifications of this job, tick attach a copy of report in pdf format.

This is the only way I know to have policy reports showing as a clear PDF instead of just a screenshot view.

Spiffy, did generate a PDF, but it wasn't pretty looking. I resolved that by having it send an e-mail to a box, that in turn is read by some software that pulls the info out and puts it into a fancy shmancy looking report. Not sure it was worth all the effort, but hey at least all 15 of my bosses now have TPS cover reports, and thus are happy.
