SQL database crash

I'm running Orion SL100 in a Windows 2003 box and SQL 2005 Express as my DB engine. Unfortunately my DB grew pass the 4GB limit and now I can't perform a compact job since it cannot find enough free space to complete the job. I even try compacting individual tables and I get the same result. Also try to run the daily maintenance routine but no luck either. I'm thinking on moving the database to a full SQL 2005 server so I can use that system to perform the compact job and once is done I can move it back to the original server, including off course scheduling weekly backups and compacting jobs. Has any one try this before? Any other suggestions?

One suggestion is to see my instructions from this thread- specifically the second set of instructions where you detach the DB-

Thanks for the tip, but I must have a different version than yours, we are running 8.5.1 Orion, recentlly installed and set.

1st recommendation... No such tool as "ShutDown NetPerfMon" there is as "Monitor Polling Engines" that allow me to see all running engines and stop hem, including SQL. But the ploblem is that if I shut down "Notwork Performance Monitor" then I cannot acces the "System Manager" tool. I'm prompted about the polling engine being down and if I choos not to send a request to restart the Manager window will not come up.

The second problem I run in to is that when I select "Database Maintenance" in system manager i only get a window indicating "Status" and the only option I have is to start the process, I don't have any option to either perform a maintenance job or a compact job.

In regards to the 2 section of your recommendation, I'll follow it in order to safelly move the database from one server to the other.

Thanks, please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong in regards to starting the compact job, currently in order to start it I open the "Database Manager tool", I rught click on the database and select "Compact"

Yes you are correct - the name has changed with the New version- Orion-> Advanced Features->Orion Service Manager->select and Stop services
