I have a number of web servers that I have applied a template to. The template consists of a handful of http and https monitors, some checking for content, and some not. The polling frequency is fairly relaxed and the timeout is long (7 minutes) because I'm told by application support that the servers take a long time to reboot, and restart application services (5 minutes.)
So the servers have a rolling maintenance script that restarts services, and that is why we set up a longer timeout. I will still receive e-mails well within (5 minutes) the amount of time that we have set for a timeout, showing that services are down.
Is there something I could be overlooking? Am I confused about how the timeout should function with these monitors?
