We are installing fresh copies of NPM and NCM on two new Windows Server 2008 R2 servers. NPM seemed to install fine following the instructions in the Admin Guide. However, NCM installed but the web page wouldn't work. I researched the errors and finally tied it to .Net Framework 3.51. The instructions for NPM state that 3.51 or higher is suggested. The instructions for NCM state that 3.51 will be installed by the setup tool if it is not already installed. However, we have .Net 4.0 installed so the setup tool did not install 3.51.
After that long background, my question is this. Am I to understand that NCM is not compatible with 4.0 on 2008 R2?
I installed 3.51 and the NCM web page works. However, it did not remove 4.0. Will this cause any other problems down the line?
