Anyone using Cirrus as a Cisco WLSE 1130 replacement?

My WLSE is dead. I have 60ish Cisco AiroNet 1200 AP's. The AP's run as Autonomous Access Points
with two WiSM's in the 6500's.

Rather then convert the AP's to Lightweight APs, and migrate to the new Cisco Wireless Control System.

I am thinking leave everything alone, and use Cirrus as the WLSE was used. This would mean buying more
Cirris licences, so before I suggest this I want to learn if anyone has any experience, good or bad
managing Cisco 1200 'autonomous AP's' with Cirrus.

I'm pretty sure that would work just fine. if you're using the IOS-based one, and not the lightweight ones, it should work just like any other snmp-enabled access point. If you have an extra available node, i'd just add one to see if it works. Otherwise, i can add one to see if it would help you, but i really don't see a reason it wouldn't work.

How do you currently use WLSE? What features of WLSE do you use? I actually have both Cirrus and WLSE. I'm contemplating the same thing, but there are management/monitoring features i dont' want to lose that WLSE does.

WLSE was used, before it died, to make mass changes on AP's. I have AirMagnet Enterprise Server for the added WLSE functions. So WLSE for me was only a batch config changer. My idea was to use Cirrus to replace this, mass AP config changing functionality.

wait, you have WiSM blades, and are going to leave your APs as autonomous?! Why?!?! Why would you leave your WiSM's sitting there, unused? Those things are expensive... isnt anyone upset that they're just sitting there doing nothing? That's crazy....

Convert them to LWAPP... thats the logical answer. The WLSE was a pile of garbage, and Cirrus isn't exactly a replacement for that functionality... convert to LWAPP and make life easier on yourself.
