Renaming Application Template Doesn't Rename Assigned Applications

When I rename my application template it isn't renaming all of the nodes where that template has been assigned as an application, is that expected?

Is there a bulk way to update all of my assigned applications names to reflect the new name of the application template?

Application names are independent of the template name.

I'll mark this thread for the PM to make sure he sees your requests for the ability to set template inheritance on the application name.

I have the same issue. My solution was to remove all assignments and re-assign with the newly renamed application.

Not a very good solution for people who already have lots of historical data.

When I assign a template the application name is automatically assigned based on the name of the template so I assumed it was intended for this to be inherited.

Since this is not the case, how is it possible to do bulk name changes to applications?

Was this ever fixed or do you still have to rename templates via the database or is there a way to rename the template via the webconsole. We currently have a template assigned to 137 nodes and really do not want to have to go to each individual node to rename the application. And to be honest I would rather not rename them via SQL db manager.

Not at this time, though I've logged this as a feature request. You might want to consider doing the same in the section so other members of the community can also vote on this feature.
