What is the reason for the "new" events console?
Is it to replace the existing console which is flash based?
But the "new" events console does not have nDepth.
What is the reason for the "new" events console? SolarWinds has been transitioning off of the flash console to HTML 5 since we all know that flash will not be supported at the end of the year.
Is it to replace the existing console which is flash based? Yes that is correct see link below
https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/Success_Center/SEM/Content/Admin_Guide/New_In_6_8/SEM-Features.htm
But the "new" events console does not have nDepth. - You are correct currently you still need to use the flash side for this but we are working on this.

What I do to replace what the nDepth did for me is the following:
Find an event that is of interest.
toggle of f the live feed.
click show results from history and seletc last 10 minutes, last 1/2 hour etc.
Works for me. It is just not called nDepth.
