Scheduled jobs won't run

Hi,

In NCM, my scheduled jobs aren't running. For example, I've set up jobs to download configs from all my devices, but once the scheduled date/time comes around, they simply don't run. When I check the job log, it shows nothing; nothing about the job failing or anything like that, just nothing, as if the job wasn't scheduled at all. I can right-click on a device and click on "Download Config" and it will download the config, so I know NCM is capable of downloading configs, but for some reason the scheduled jobs aren't running. Any ideas of what I should check? I thought I'd query the forums before I open a ticket.

I'm surprised it didn't indicate that in the job log. In any case that worked.

glad to help, if you go look at your windows scheduler it actually builds the tasks there. sort of a front end i guess. im windows stupid so im kinda glad it works this way.

if only i could get my sysadmins to create a service acct so i wouldnt have to change the password here everytime i change it on the domain hahaha

i have the same issues as swine. I've scheduled jobs to download configs nightly, inventory cisco devices, and export configs. my job log shows downs that were done manually via tests. there is no information for the times the download are suppose to occur. for windows crendentials, i'm using an orion_service account that we created. the account has Administrators (built-in) and Domain Users privileges.

i've also checked windows task scheduler and eventviewer. the scheduled downloads took place there. still, there were no scheduled download in ncm. again, only the downloads done manually. is there anything that you think of that i need to check to get ncm performing these scheduled jobs?

Make sure that the Syslog and Trap Services have administrator rights.

Running Syslog and Trap Services as Administrator
Although the SolarWinds Syslog Server and Trap Server are installed and launched with Administrator access, you must manually grant them such access in order for them and their jobs to run correctly.
To grant Administrator access to the SolarWinds Syslog Server and Trap Server:
1. Navigate to the location where SolarWinds NCM software is installed. The default installation path is C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Configuration Management.
2. Right click NCMSyslogService in the right pane and select Properties.
3. Select the Compatibility tab.
4. Click Run this program as an administrator in Privilege Level, click Apply, then click OK.
5. Right click NCMTrapService in the right pane and select Properties
6. Click the Compatibility tab
7. Click Run this program as an administrator in Privilege Level, click Apply, and then click OK.
