Some real world numbers for comparison?

I'm looking for some real world numbers for comparison. If anyone would like to contribute, I'd like to see version of NetFlow, average and peak flows/sec, estimated traffic combined for all interfaces sending flows, and, if possible, any extra configuration at the source end (i.e., sampling).

v5, ~15k flows/sec average, ~65k flows/sec peak, ~400Mbps combined over 2 interfaces (bidirectional), no extra config.

Should give you an idea of our v5, we do v9 also.

Hi Justinh,

considering such a high number of flows you have I would recommend you to enable Top Talker Optimization feature from NetFlow 3.6. It will provide you with better performance and reduce storage/SQL server requirements - please find more information here http://www.solarwinds.com/NetPerfMon/SolarWinds/default.htm?href=OrionNetFlowAGConfiguringTopTalkerOptimization.htm

Using the APM Module for Orion. If you have that it is pretty simple, just add the counter to APM for your Orion server. Let me know if you want further/more detailed instructions.

We have APM. Is that counter contained in an existing template?
