Is there a way to have different thresholds for Production and Development or would we need a whole different install of SAM? Thanks for your help!
Hello,
You can unmanage monitoring of database(s) on "SQL Database" view using "Unmanage" button. Unmanaged database is not polled and its status isn't calculated into overall application status. It is benefical in case when you know that database isn't in good state.

Absolutely! Each SQL instance (and even database) can have its own unique thresholds in AppInsight for SQL. When viewing the Application Details of the SQL instance you wish to modify the threshold for, simply click the "Edit Application Monitor" link in the top right.
From there you will be taken to the application editor for that SQL instance on that node. Any thresholds or settings defined here will be unique to this specific SQL instance.
Thank you for the response on this. I thought I would be able to just copy the AppInsight for Exchange template and create one for DEV. We have 10 Dev servers and 10 Prod servers so I'm trying to eliminate changing the settings 10 times. Anyone know if this is possible? The AppInsight for SQL template is grayed out when trying to copy.
I don't think you can do that with either of the AppInsight templates by design. From what I've seen attempts to copy or rename cause major DB issues. Unfortunately you may be stuck with having to edit each assignment individually.
Thanks for your reply. Is there a way to ignore databases on certain SQL servers? I tried looking under list resources but nothing there. I'll keep digging.
