I have a question, how can I upgrade NTA to version 4.2.2, what´s the procedure and which are the accounts that I must take into account before moving the database to a dedicated server.
Thanks for your help!

NTA 4.4 Adoption: Frequently Asked Questions - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support
Hi,
Firstly as mentioned above the latest version is now 4.4 but that requires SQL 2016 SP1 and Win2012, can I assume because you stated 4.2.2 specifically that you are still on Win2008 and SQL2008?
NTA has come a long way since 3.11, firstly in 3.11 your flow data is still stored in your main Orion SQL Database. As of version 4.0 SolarWinds moves flow storage out to a flat file storage system called FastBit which needed a dedicated Flow Storage Database (normally hosted on a seperate machine depending on your scale).
However due to technology improvements in SQL 2016 SolarWinds have now moved back to SQL as of the latest release 4.4.
It might be worth thinking how much time and money you want to spend on migrating to FastBit if you just have to move back to SQL again, plus whilst there is a data migration from SQL to FastBit in the 4.0 release SolarWinds have NOT put any migration in for the move from FastBit back to SQL so in essence you lose any historic Flow Storage.
sorry if that’s a lot to digest, feel free to ask any additional questions.
As dgsmith80 suggested, you may want to consider just going straight to NTA 4.4 if you have an MS SQL 2016 SP1 or later server you can use to build out the flow storage database. On NTA 4.4 - while we are using MS SQL for flow storage - we're actually building a separate database for flow records. So - you'll have two databases: one for Orion, and one specifically for flow records. Those databases can happily co-exist in the same SQL instance, on the same server. With NTA 4.x up to 4.2.3, we required a separate dedicated database server for the FastBit database. That requirement is gone in 4.4.
The latest version of the Solarwinds installer will guide you to either install NTA 4.4 or optionally defer that installation, and bring you up to the 4.2.3 release. That's a temporary measure to help give customers time to provision their current SQL server deployments in preparation for the upgrade.
