Can it be done? Associating one node with another..

Here's what I am looking to do...

We have juniper WXC devices installed throughout our MPLS network. Do to how they compress / accelerate the data, my netflow information comes from them vs the router onsite.

I would like to find a means to add a specific juniper device to a specific location / router detail page so I can view all the information from the same location. When a site complains about speed issues, I would like to be able to view the bandwidth use and WHAT is using it, such as if I was getting the netflow traffic from the router.

Any thoughts?

If I understand you correctly, you want to have a resource on the node details views of your remote locations that shows the associated netflow statistics, which are actually collected from another device.

I assume you are using the Orion netflow module, and not a product from another vendor. I'm not intimately familiar with the Orion netflow module, as we use a different product, but depending on how the netflow data is stored in the database, you should be able to create a custom resource to look up and display the data from another device. That is, as long as there is a way to easily identify which interface instance on your Juniper device is associated with each remote site, and it remains consistent.

This scenario wouldn't work in our MPLS environment, as we have single IP sub-interfaces on our central site routers that service all our remote locations, so we simply collect the netflow data from the remote routers themselves.

The short answer is yes.
There are several ways this can be done, but the first one that comes to mind is using the Custom Property Editor to associate the Juniper with the Edge router. You could add a custom property with the NodeID of the Juniper or a URL to a specific Juniper chart or graph, and associate it with the Edge Router. You can then add this custom property to your node details view several ways. If you use raw html you can embed the graphs and charts from the Juniper device directly in the associated node details page.
