Report from Multiple Databases?

Hello,

We currently have two NPM installations. We have used the report writer to write some reports that we're using for Life Cycle Management. We'd like to be able to pull data in from both installations into one report. Is this possible?

Note: We have the EOC if that helps...

This looks like a feature request for EOC => http://thwack.com/forums/50.aspx

If you cannot wait it to be implemented here is what you could try assuming both databases are on the same SQL Server instance or in the case of multiple instances, permissions are setup correctly (linked servers).

Create views that combines data from both databases using fully qualified names

[[[server.][database].][schema_name].]object_name

Once created, use these views in advanced SQL Reports. You can reuse existing reports code easily by changing the tables they are querying to be the view instead.

Editing the database directly is not supported, so do it at your own risks.

Thanks Yann! I'll post a feature request!

Right now one server is in North America and the other is in Asia. We've been able to get some really good data out of them we'd just like to have it all in one report.
