AppStack missing Storage and VMAN Information

Hi Guys,

I am working on an implementation of NPM/NTA/SAM/SRM/STM/VMAN

We want to use the AppStack feature, however we do not have SRM/STM and VMAN Information in AppStack.

When Clicking on a Node (Windows Server VM) directly and navigating to the Storage and Virtualization Tab on the left we do see all Information from SRM/STM/VMAN

From my knowledge AppStack should generate the overview automatically

Am I missing something here?

Note that STM does not integrate into the AppStack, so only those arrays that are monitored by the Orion native SRM will appear within the AppStack.

Have you integrated the Virtual Appliance into Orion? Also, are you running Storage Manager (AKA: Storage Profiler) which typically runs on a separate server and a lightweight integration with Orion, or are you running the entirely new Storage Resource Monitor which is installed on the same machine as the rest of your Orion products and is fully integrated?

Hi, yes wie integrated the Virtual Appliance in the Settings.

We are running both, SRM and STM.

STM Integration in the VMAN Appliance is done. Currently SRM and STM are running on the Same box.

integration between SRM and VMAN should be done automatically, right?

The integration is between NPM and the other two. Orion then mashes all the information toghether in the AppStack view. Check under 'settings>application specific settings' that both VMAN and SRM/Profiler are properly linked with NPM.

I wonder if STM Profiler will ever be binned in favour of the integrated SRM? I'm sure you'll get there in the end but the split brain nature of the product has put clients off, in my experience

In fairless, looking at the more recent updates, it looks like the devs are working towards this nirvana.

Of course you are right, I mixed the names.

thanks for pointing that out. Other readers might get confused.

I will double check, but I am almost certain we did the integration into NPM/Orion.

other than that no more actions need to be done, right?

unfortunately we have storage systems that are only supported by the STM so we will not see those in AppStack.

Double Checked, Integration with Orion-Core is done...

It seems we solved it, however I do not understand why.

We have another issue with Network Sonar Discovery not finding Nodes, and tested a bit.

We set up a new test database and started from scratch. After our tests we reverted back to the Original Database and then it was working....
