Hi All,
Why asset inventory report is not available with linux servers ,it can be done or it is default behavior
No, you should be getting Asset Information.
We do even of virtual hosts.
I would check your snmpd.conf file, does have restrictions on which OIDs you can view?
Manpage of SNMPD.EXAMPLES - check the "Traditional access control" section.
I have agent installed in Redhat server ,Still i need to map anything ?Hope SAM agent must retrieve all info
List Resources for the device
Is Asset Information selected?
It is usually at the bottom of the list.
yes for windows i can see ...for linux i could not see.
For agent based Monitoring check here: Deploy an agent with the Add Node wizard
For asset inventory you need additional SNMP Credentials:
Quote: "For Linux-based computers, you can choose to add SNMP credentials to collect SNMP data for Asset Inventory and Hardware Health from the remote computer."
once you added the SNMP Credentials, under the list resources you will see asset inventory:
after you selected Asset Inventory, you will see the Tab on your Linux machine:
Not all devices support the asset inventory, do you have the Linux flavour and versions?
Are you running virtual of physical servers?
So I need to open SNMP 161 port as well as 17778 port for LInux Servers? SNMP configurations must be enabled in Agent
I am running VM instance with Red hat 6.5 and 7 versions
