We're trying to lessen our dependency on Microsoft's System Center Operations Manager by migrating the monitoring of critical services over to APM. We've been largely successful, but at least one task remains unreproducible using APM.
At the very least we need to be notified when a MSSQL database is approaching its size threshold. I.E. when the database has run out of free space. This is not disk space mind you, but free space within the database. Ideally we'd like to trend/graph this usage over time, but that's not so much a "need" as it is a wish.
Does anyone have an APM template, script, or magic pixie dust that would allow me to be alerted when a database is running out of free space?
