We are in a situation where we want to import a few thousand IP addresses into Orion. These devices are not necessarily yet setup on the network nor may they not be online but we still would like them to be imported so we can see the status.
There only seems to be one solution for bulk import (Network Discovery) but this only supports SNMP discovery which requires the device to be online at the moment where it discovers (and this is not possible) :-(
1) Will ICMP import be available in an upcoming release so it doesn't need to check for online availability in the discovery?
2) Can I insert the new devices directly into the Nodes database with "ICMP" in "ObjectSubStatus" or will this mess up the IDs? Or perhaps I should ask - how do I manually insert new devices directly into the Orion database?
3) If anyone know how this can be done in another way I would apreciate to know how - currently we only need ICMP import
