import Devices from Orion Database

I import devices from Orion database on a daily basis (scheduled job).

Criteria = node type equal to Cisco.

Unfortunately not all Cisco devices support telnet, etc (eg. old 350 workgroup bridges)

Wondering what is the best way to 'unmanage these devices' or not import this type.

I've tried right clicking on node and going 'unmanage', but these devices still end up making the 'Overall Devices Backed Up vs. Not Backed Up' pie chart.

Is there a better way of doing of handling unwanted devices in NCM ?

You can create a custom node property in Orion (e.g. NCMImport) and map that to the EnableOrionImport field in your NCM scheduled import job. Then, set this custom property value to false in Orion for all nodes you don't want to import into NCM.
