Device Discovery in NCM

Hi,

I m using the latest version of NCM. I have multiple Vlan's created on the same network device (access switch). When I add device using a IP address of the Vlan (Vlan1)it gets added in NCM. Now when i add IP address of different Vlan (Vlan9) of same device it also gets added with the same hostname i.e duplication happens while adding devices.

Can you suggest any way to avoid such kind of duplication.

I would suggest monitoring at management Vlan IP addresses if possible. NCM isn't smart enough to know that a system with multiple IP interfaces is really one system. Not only does it get confusing in your NCM or NPM views but it also eats at a license count for the duplicated nodes.
