For anyone using tags in their virtual environment, I would say extremely valuable. Personally, this is something I was a bit surprised when I found out VMAN doesn't already support them.
As we use NSX and are starting downtime automation path for our VMs - tagging is extremely useful
We use tags for clasify the type of vm. dev.test. prod. Also for the different backups the we do. The tagging of vms also make us automate some tasks base on those tags.
