NPM Failover scenario

We have an installation with one NPM and one database server, both single instance virtual machines in a VMware farm, without any kind of failover.

We want to enhance NPM resiliency, so I planned to install a NPM FOE (Failover Engine) in a different DP room on the same campus.

I read that the expected downtime for NPM FOE take over the production NPM is about 2 minutes. Is that the expected time for NPM failover?

For database the approach is to syncronize the databace VM through storage (Netapp) between the 2 DP rooms.

Paul, the failover time is 60 seconds by default, but is configurable. This is described in detail in the OrionFailoverEngineAdministratorGuide.PDF on Solarwinds' site. Hope this helps.
