Question,
Does the free SFTP/SCP server software support public key authentication? It looks like just username / password. We need to test data transfer with a vendor and they are requesting the following. At this point we just want to test the transfer and verify the data so do not want to purchase SFTP software at the moment. Guess maybe have to do a 30-day eval on Serv-U instead?
1) The SFTP user ID ( files will be placed in the home directory of the SFTP userID )
2) The SFTP user password ( public-key authentication will be used )
3) Files will be placed in the home directory of the SFTP user ID
4) SFTP port (22/tcp default) Note: Public Key authentication will be used as part of the secure connection to your server. We will provide the public key. Please be sure to place this key in the appropriate directory on your server according to the requirements of the SFTP application you are using.
