Application Component - Exclude from Alert if Member of a specified Group

Question

I currently have an Application Component Down alert that works great and alerts me anytime a component goes down.  I would like to modify that alert such that if the component is a member of a group that I have setup that it will not alert me.  I initially though this would be pretty easy but I am having a difficult time finding the necessary fields available to make this work.

you might have to create a complex conditions on Alert using AND

1 - Alert on component

2 - Alert on groups - say group member is component A

I have tried to do this with several alerts and this just doesn't seem possible even though it seems like it should be existing functionality.  I have also seen a few other unanswered questions on this.

Can anybody confirm if there is a way to have an alert condition for group member status?
