Looking to Automate the Running of DB Maintenance

I'm looking to set a scheduled task to run every Sat to do a DB maintenance in NPM/SAM. When i execute "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Database-Maint.exe" it just runs the app but i still need to click start. What is the switch to make the install non interactive or also known as silent mode? Any assistance with this will be greatly appreciated.

I too was looking for this and the only solution I found was via autoit script.  The script you would need to run this via autoit would look something like this:

Run("D:\Orion-Install\NPM\Database-Maint.Exe")

Sleep(2000)

WinActivate("Database Maintanence")

Send("{ENTER}")

Do

  Sleep(5000)

  Until WinExists("Database Maintenance", "Database Maintenance Complete.") = 1

ProcessClose("Database-Maint.exe")

Exit

To setup a scheduled task do the following:

1. Download autoit without installing it on your server by downloading it from: https://www.autoitscript.com/cgi-bin/getfile.pl?autoit3/autoit-v3.zip

2. Unzip the contents into a folder of your choice I used d:\autoit\

3. launch Task Scheduler Start -> Run -> taskschd.msc

4. create a new basic task Action -> Create Basic Task

5. Provide name and description of your task and click Next

6. Set the task trigger frequency , daily, weekly .... your choice click Next.

7. set start date and time....click Next.

8. In the action choice select "Start a program" click next

9. In the program/script: field click on browse and navigate to folder where you extracted the autoit zip file and select the process autoit3_x64.exe. (You can use 32bit version here too if you like but it may depend on your OS install)

10. In the Add arguments field enter the exact path where your autoit script is located.  My autoit script file name is run-db-maint.au3 and it is located at path d:\scripts\run-db-maint.au3. (Remember to change the script's path for location of Database-maint.exe according to your NPM install path)

11. Leave start in blank and click on Next and then Finish

Test your task by running it and if all goes as planned you will see that database-maint.exe is launched and the start button is pushed to start the task.
