Hello everyone!
This is my first post here and just wanted to say hello and start with some useful conversation.
This week (Thanksgiving Week) most of my department will be gone. It will be only me and another system engineer. Being that it is the week of Thanksgiving, the organization I work for will be dead. So I was hoping to do something useful in this 3 day period, other than just updates.
We have around 20 VLANs at our organization and I would like to setup a way to be able to use WOL on machines across different VLANs.
I had thought it could be as easy as making a virtual server with 2 virtual NICs, then just changing the VLAN of one of the NICs every time I wanted to send a WOL packet to a computer in a different VLAN.
Does anyone have any experience with this, or maybe an idea of a better way to do it?
