We just fielded this question from a new user and I thought others might be interested in the answer as well.
The N-1 failover capacity setting is in the Advanced settings within the Capacity Planner.
In the Capacity Planner, click “Edit” in the Resource Container of your new profile.
Then click on the “Advanced Options” link in the lower left hand corner of the capacity planner to pull up several options on the left hand side of the page.
Click on “Calculations Settings”, check the box “N-1 Capacity (failover)”, then “Update”. The failover should be reflected in the resource container.
Now, we want to save off this customized container for use on the dashboard.
In the summary view of the capacity, click the Edit button.
Unclick the “Option 2: Use Dynamic Content” option.
Click “Save As” in the upper right corner.
Rename it something like “All clusters, N-1”.
Finally, we want to create the new widget that reflects the N-1 VM capacity.
Then, go to the dashboard where you want to place the widget. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the + sign to Add Widget.
Select “VM Capacity”widget.
Click the “Configure Widget” button in the upper right corner of the widget.
Change the Default (All Clusters) resource container to the new “All clusters, N-1”.
Save changes.
Edit Title of widget from “available capacity” to “Available capacity, N-1”.
that should be it. Let us know if you have questions.
