Hi the problem is about the "The credentials do not have write access to the device,TFTP Host: localhost" error message in the solarwinds everytime we schedule a backup. please help asa
I recommend double-clicking on one of the devices whose config backup via TFTP is failing and selecting Actions > Valid SNMP Credentials. If the SNMP R/W Community verification fails, then it looks like the read-write community string is no longer valid.
I changed the 3 protocols to ssh-auto and tried to run the backup. It was successful but Im still not sure if which is which or if I did the right thing. Please advise. thanks.
I am having the same problem. Outo f 300 modes, 6 of them get this message. When I run the VALIDATE SNMP, i get no error. I verified the SNMP string on the routers. What could the problem be?
Could you open a support ticket on this one? We're going to need a sniffer trace since session tracing doesn't work via SNMP/TFTP transfers. I'd really like to get to the bottom of this one, but we're going to need you to work with support so dev can get engaged.
Try the ssh-auto , this might be the reason if your cisco equipments cannot be accessed via telnet but with ssh or if the equipments are secured. Try changing the protocols under the three drop down boxes. Im still not sure if this is the answer but it helped me in the current setup we have. I dont know if there is still a need to setup a tftp server for this.
I have about 350 devices and using a combination of ssh, snmp and tftp, I was able to get all of them to successfully download. Since the protocol choice is a manual selection and Cirrus has those handy "verify" buttons, it was a piece of cake!
