Orion not seeing itself

We are going through our current issues and discovered that our Orion server was showing unknown status's on it's Internet Information Service Services and counters and Orion Server. Orion Server is showing unknown for: SW NPM, SW Orion Job Engine, SW Orion Module Engine, SW Orion Job Scheduler and so on. Anyone have any idea why that would happen? We have verified services are running and it can see majority of other good services so credentials are good.

SAM 5.2 is now available. I would recommend upgrading to see if that resolves your SQL query issue.

If you look at the component, there should be an info box. What does this have listed? What are the results if you edit the application and re-test these components?

The info box says "connection time out, cancelled by job scheduled" and When I go into edit application and try to test on the IIS systems HTTP Port Monitor passes but everything else fails with "Hresult: The specified object not found."

It does the exact same thing with orion services, I also wanted to point out that we have verified the server is polling based on last and next poll times

Have you tried restarting the Remote Registry Service on the monitored server? In this case the Orion server itself, and then re-testing?

Thank you both for your replies, We have tried restarting the RRS service on Orion and resetting the WMI counters and restarting the entire wmi service as well as 2 reboots but so far nothing. But we started digging further into our Orion server and are now seeing a lot of error's in the event logs. We are seeing numerous errors for Service Control manager with error message:

"The WMI Performance Adapter service terminated with the following error:

%%-2147467259"

But we are trying to figure out if this is an acceptable error message or not.

I'm not sure that this would be causing the issue since this is the adapter service and not the actual WMI service.

We are in the process of opening an incident with support to see if they can help. If we find out what's going on, I'll post so if anyone in the future has this issue might be a little clearer.

Thank you both for your help, I worked with support today and apparently we had 2 issues. One of which was resolved and was a permissions issue. The second issue we could not figure out but we're leaning towards a bug in SAM 5.0.0 that keeps giving us an invalid query of the SQL database. I have sent diagnostics report to support so we'll see what will come of it.
