NCM Website Issue

NCM website response is very slow although server performance is perfectly fine.

When I try to open NCM website it takes few minutes to load page and provide login information page. After entering login information again it takes 2 to 3min to login.

Once user is logged in website works fine.

Can anyone tell me how can I make it faster as it is too slow in loading first page which is very annoyable thing infront of management.

NCM is installed on win2k3 with SP2 and SQL 2005

IIS recycles the worker processes on a timed interval. Once the worker process has been recycled, and a new request is made the pages will need be compiled again at run time. Try increasing the time where the processes are recycled 'Shutdown worker processes after being idle for (time in minutes):' (located in the App pool)

To help us understand your issue a little better, please answer the following:

1) Once the web page is compiled does it run quicker? Or is it always slow?

2) What are the specs of your system (CPU, memory)?

3) Is SQL 2005 installed on the same server as NCM or a separate server?

4) What version of IIS are your running?

5) How many devices do you have loaded in NCM?

Required information is listed below.

2. CPU 2.83Ghz Dual Core and 2GB RAM, CPU and RAM performance are optimal.

3. SQL server is installed on same machine where NCM is installed.

4. IIS version 6.0

5. 100 devices are loaded in NCM.

did you find a cure? We have the same behavior, and about the same specs as you on the processor and number of nodes.

doesn't seem to be a SQL issue since subsequent pages load fine - it's just initial login screen, and then logging in that takes too much time.

I don't even use the web interface. For me, SPEEDY access is about 45 seconds to load the first page. I also had to optimize my inventory jobs, pulling mac address data from my switches every night so I can track port usage and running full inventory jobs on the weekend since it takes a day and a half to inventory my 404 devices.....when it finishes, which isn't often.
