Unable to locate device template

Hi,

I was having some issues with my old NCM server.  Too many applications on it so I built a new server and put NCM 6.0 on it.

I backed up the database and moved it to the new server.  MS SQL was running locale on both boxes.

After getting NCM up and running most things look good but I'm having a problem with Night config backup for my ASA's.   I'm getting:

"ERROR: Cannot download Running config : Unable to locate or error loading device template: d:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\DeviceTypes\Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Version 7. Device IP: 10.0.11.254"

I've added the device as a new device and everything works for the ASA as another node but I would lose the history of my configuration changes on that device.  Is there any way to fix the error?

Hi Andy,

There is a high possibility that the device templates are manually tagged to ASA previously, and the device templates are not set to Auto Config for device template. And there might be discrepancies after the reinstallation (in terms of path)

Instead of creating the device as a new device in NCM, go into the ASA devices in NCM and set the template to be used as Auto-Config and see if that helps.
