Rules Based Configuration Profiling

I am reviewing the NCM Tool for a project that I am spearheading and have one critical question about the capabilities of NCM.

Can I create custom rules to review what I would consider best practices and have those items flagged in a report. For example perhaps I want to scrub alot of devices and I want to look at the configs and see that "snmp-server community <string> <ACL#> that an ACL does exist on that command and if not flag it in a report. Can NCM do that?

Yes, you'll want to check out the Policy Reporter capabilities included with NCM (please reference Chapter 9 of Admin Guide).    Using Policy Reporter, you can create rules based on string pattern match or regular expression and flag a violation in a Policy Report.
