One Application built from multiple processes running on multiple windows servers - Can it be done?

I have a single application that is comprised of multiple processes running on multiple windows servers. Ideally, I'd like to view the status of the application as a whole with the ability to drill down to individual processes which are distributed across multiple servers. Any help in bringing this to reality would be greatly appreciated.

We have a few applications that are similar to this, the approach we are currently taking is creating a group to represent the overall application and then adding the nodes and application templates assigned to those nodes into the group. We then use the group status as overall application status and can drill into the group and use AppStack and Group Root Cause to diagnose what's gone wrong

^ This is how I generally do it as well. Sometimes have to nest a few categories of groups inside each other depending on the complexity of the application.

Using a large scaled Solarwinds deployment as an example I might do something like this:

> Solarwinds Overall Group

> Solarwinds Web Servers

- WebServer1

- WebServer1AppMonitor

- WebServer2

- WebServer2AppMonitor

> Solarwinds Polling Engines

- APE1

- APE1AppMonitor

- APE2

- APE2Appmonitor

- ... etc

> Solarwinds Core Servers

- OrionHAVIP

- OrionHAPrimary

Depending on how I want things to roll up I might set up the HA servers to show the Best status instead of mixed, depends on the nature of the application.

Obviously it is somewhat beside the point to build out this specific group because if the group overall were to go down then we wouldn't find out about it from inside Solarwinds since it would be down, but it can also be a handy way to document complex application architectures beside giving the ability to report on overall availability and perf metrics. I'd take any visio diagrams or whatever we had of the architecture and import them to atlas to be the "map" for the group.
