Error 1722 while trying to install wmi provider

I attempted to install the wmi provider on a machine without local admin and the setup failed.

I then logged on with local admin and now when I try running the install I get the following error:

Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A Program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

I know this is from the previous failed install but I cannot figure out how to fix the problem so I can properly install the provider.

I tried a complete shutdown and reboot but that did not fix the problem.

Is this a Win2k machine? If so, we have a new provider version that should address this.

No its a Windows XP Pro with service pack 3.
