Anyone migrated from webwatchbot, or HP site-scope to Solarwinds APM?

I am posting a few times today as I am just about to kick of a major tools redevelopment using Solarwinds products. i am trying to decommission:

First 2 on the roadmap are

HP Site scope

Webwatchbot

both of which currently seem to just do website availability but i have heard that the tools in the new APM let you do much more, and test log on etc, how does this work, is it only specific types of website that use a specific way of logging on? i.e. java apps and stuff will not work i assume...

Yup, you'll be looking at the HTTP and HTTPS monitors, and the HTTP Form Login monitor.

The HTTP and HTTPS component monitors attempt to retrieve the page at the URL you give them, and let you pass or fail it based on string matching (for example, fail if the text contains "404 error"). If the content is protected with Basic HTTP Authentication, you can supply the necessary credential.

The HTTP Form Login Monitor lets you check the contents of a page that is behind an HTML Form-based authentication scheme. You're correct that it won't work with java apps, flash or the like. It parses the HTML of the authentication page, figures out which fields are for the username and password, transmits the credential, and then passes or fails the monitor based on string matching just like the HTTP and HTTPS component monitors. For example, you can fail if the returned page contains "user not found", or deem it successful if any text matches "user logged in".

What else... oh, yes. There's also a Web Link monitor that checks the accessibility of any hyperlinks on a web page. It also counts the number of broken links and returns it as a statistic.
