Configuration Manager script question

Can someone give an example for a Cisco router password change to delete the admin password. When the switch responds with the confirm and I have to enter a Y in response.

no username admin

This operation will remove all username related configurations with same name.Do you want to continue? [confirm]

(need to send a Y to confirm)

Hi,

Can you give a little more information on the device you're trying to do this on, as I've just double checked on a Cisco router and it was very simple to remove the username without any prompt? I don't recall ever seeing that prompt before.

to be more specific this is Cisco router or switch and here is the script I am trying to create for this.

Sorry I meant what version or model specifically. To my knowledge, Cisco IOS doesn't need a Y/N confirmation to remove a username and I wondered where you had seen that? If you can give me a better example I can try and simulate it in my test lab.

I assume your setting up the script to do this via a bulk change on multiple devices? You need to run the script at least once manually to ensure that the command syntax is correct.

If I'm not mistaken your syntax should look more like this:

BUT I am sure you know that with Cisco commands vary from device to device and IOS versions etc. If you can give me more specifics I can run a mock up and test it for you.

Just spotted my own mistake there on privilege ! Sorry ! So used to just typing priv.

Thanks, I think because I using Cisco Denali it prompts with the message below when I submit the 'no username admin' command, so somehow I have to send a 'Y' to continue or it will not remove it.
