Is it possible to reset the AppInsight for SQL Template to default settings it came with? Maybe download and import the default template again?
This should help:
SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: AppInsight Templates are not available.
This will re-import the default AppInsight Templates.

Not a reset, but you can edit it. HTH.
The template was edited previously and I want to start fresh by possibly importing it as a new template.
Perhaps SW has a copy of the default template file?
I was able to run the command but it returns "Template already exists". I was also unable to delete template from SAM interface - delete button is grey'd out. I don't see any switches to force overwrite.

Yeah, AppInsight templates aren't meant to be deleted or copied the way regular templates are. All we can really do is give you the thresholds from the default template and you can reset them manually.
