Real Time Change, Syslog, and DNS

I have had the Real Time Change Notification working wonderfully for more than a year. However, yesterday, I took all of my routers and L3 switches and added them to DNS, so we can telnet by name instead of IP.

When I did this, the Syslog reported the Hostname column as the hostname of the device instead of the IP Address of the device, like it has for the last year. When that happened, I no longer received the Real Time Change Notification, becasue Cirrus is managed by IP and the Syslog was receiving the hostname.

Has anyone had this issue? Is there a solution? I don't want to open a ticket if I don't have to.

Any input would be appreciated.

It appears that the RTM Functionality specifically requires the IP address as the parameter and does not accept the host name.

Looking into this for you, not sure of a solution at the moment.

Thank you for the information. It would be great if this issue could be put down as a feature request as telnetting via DNS is very useful.
