Hoping someone can help. Have a recent SAM installation and I'm trying to connect to one of our legacy Virtual Centres running ESX4. Have no problem connecting to ESX6 and another ESX4 VC but for some reason I just get denied access with Test Failed. Cannot login with selected vCenter or ESX credential. when trying to poll for VMWare adding the node (it is already added as a node but not the VMWare components). I know the credentials are fine because I can log onto the VCenter with them, they are specifically Administrator at the root of the VC.
Has anyone got any idea why this is happening? I can add the individual ESX hosts with root password and it manages them fine. No firewalls on the host or between the SW app server and the host.
(I should add that I can connect to it using Virtualisation Manager OK with the root password but we don't have the quantity of socket licenses to cover it on that platform).
