APM 4.0, The Linux/Unix Operating System Template has an error

Hi,

Just to let you know, the Linux/Unix Operating System Template provided in APM

has an error, the help text in the Script Body has mixed the location of the

SNMPver and the hostname variables.

It also feels like a bad hack to login with ssh to execute snmp queries. Why

not use native linux/unix commands?

could you please be more specific what is wrong there? I can't see what you mean.

Regarding the usage of SNMP within the script - yes, this is something we are looking at for a future release.

I'm wondering if your unix/linux servers have perl installed so we could provide scripts in perl or would you expect scripts to be more low level - bash or something else?
